Technical Capability

Printing process
Litho and screen
Digital printing
Extra White, Ivory and Stone Colours give acceptable results on the HP Indigo press, although they are not qualified. The coloured papers are not suitable on HP Indigo presses at all. All the colours give acceptable results on machines such as Kodak Nexpress, Xerox iGen 3 and other Xerox Docucolours. In all cases, trials are strongly recommended.
Screen ruling
175,,under colo,ur removal,may be co,nsidered f,or jobs wi,th large d,ark areas,of ink
Printing inks
White, Ivory and Stone work well with semi fresh inks. We only recommend fully oxidising inks for all other colours in this range. For screen printing, UV and vinyl inks in conjunction with drying ovens.
Embossing
Yes, blind embossing. The corners of the die should be rounded off to avoid creases.
Varnishing
Yes, spot UV screen varnishing.
Sealing
Yes, to avoid marking during further processing and handling, although the matt aspect of the sheet may be compromised depending on the choice of sealer and coat weight
Hot foil blocking
Yes, ensure the use of compatible film
Film laminating
Yes, however the visual aspect and feel will be lost
Creasing
Pre-creasing is advisiable by using a creasing rule and matrix
Spraying
At least 15µm spray powder for the 135g/m², and 35µm or above when printing 270g/m² or 350g/m²
Binding & gluing
It is possible to bond the papers to themselves and to other materials. When using spiral and comb type binding, ensure that cutters are kept sharp. Rounded holed perform best. Skin can be saddle stitched, scetion sewn and perfect bound.
Permanence of paper
Extra White, Ivory and Stone meet ISO9706 requirements for Permanence of Paper
