Technical Capability

Printing process
Litho and screen
Screen ruling
133-150lpi. Finer rulings may be used with careful ink control, including the use of under cover removal. Stochastic screenings may also be used.
Printing inks
Conventional positive-drying inks, UV and, if laser processing is a requirement, use of laser stable inks. Avoid press stable inks when further machine passes of processing required
Embossing
Yes, blind embossing. The corners of the die should be rounded off to avoid creases
Varnishing
Spot screen UV varnishing is the only method to achieve a good gloss result. Ensure sheet is sealed beforehand. Lay a matt UV varnish just to seal the surface, then a gloss UV varnish to achieve the desired effect. Repeat varnishings may be required. Varnishing is not recommended if subsequent laser printing is anticipated
Sealing
Sealing can be used to avoid marking during further processing and handling. This is advisable where heavy ink coverage is required. Sealing is not recommended if subsequent laser printing is required.
Hot foil blocking
Yes, ensure the use of compatible film
Film laminating
Yes, however some 'silvering' may occur. Increase laminating pressure and apply excess adhesive to help reduce silvering.
Creasing
Pre-creasing is recommended by using a creasing matrix. Prominent creases should be made parallel to the grain of the board. Fold into the bead to create prominent folds.
Binding & gluing
It is possible to bond Particle sheets to themselves (duplexing) and to other materials using hot-melt or acrylic type adhesives. When using spiral and comb-type bindings, ensure that cutters are kept sharp. Rounded holes perform best. Particles can be saddle-stitched, section sewn and perfect bound
Laser guaranteed
The 100g paper weight is guaranteed for pre-printing and subsequent printing with all desktop laser and inkjet machines (subject to each printer's manufacturers guidance on grammages and use)
Inkjet guaranteed
The 100g paper weight is guaranteed for pre-printing and subsequent printing with all desktop laser and inkjet machines (subject to each printer's manufacturers guidance on grammages and use)
