Screen UV varnishing is the only method to achieve a good gloss finish on this absorbent paper. Ensure sheet is pre-sealed with acrylic or glycol sealer. Sealing

Sealers can be used to avoid marking during further processing and handling, although the papers metallic nature will be compromised.

Yes, some 'silvering' may occur: to reduce it, increase laminating pressure and apply excess adhesvice. We recommend pre-testing to ascertain the level of quality

Creasing

To guarantee good folding results, pre-creasing is recommended for grammages of 170g/m² and above. Creases should be made parallel to the grain of the board. A creasing rule and matrix system should also be used. Fold into the bead for prominent folds.

Spraying

The use of spray powder with a particle size of 35 microns or above is recommended when printing board weights.

Binding & gluing

It is possible to bond metallic sheets to themselves (duplexing) and to other materials using hot-melt or acrylic type adhesives. When using spiral and comb-type bindings, ensure that the cutters are kept sharp. Rounded holes perform best. Metallics can be saddle-stitched, section sewn and perfect bound.

Printing process

Litho and screen. Due to the natural characteristics of metallic/iridescent papers, deep solid areas of black or blue may be difficult to achieve. On press, it is normal for some of the special surface coating to transfer to the blanket. Blankets are likely to require cleaning after 4000 impressions or more.
