The Sign Show Review
9th September 2008
The Robert Horne Group's stand at the Sign Show held in Coventry in September portrayed a different aspect of the Robert Horne Group from the internationally renowned substrate and wide format provider we are all familiar with. The Sign Show provided a platform for the Robert Horne Group to highlight their traditional, industry leading portfolio of plastics, acrylics and substrates, but also to demonstrate a new concept in ordering, an on-line facility recently launched by the group www.roberthornedirect.co.uk, which enables signmakers to order a wide range of ancillary signmaking products online.
Called Robert Horne Direct this web site helps busy signmakers of all denominations to buy whenever the need arises 24/7. Payment is by credit card, in a safe and secure environment and there is no necessity for customers to set up a prior account. The extensive range available for purchase ranges from squeegees, tapes, vinyl to high visibility clothing, knives and gloves and can even satisfy office stationery requirements at the same time.
Paul French, Robert Horne Sign & Display's Managing Director commented: "The Sign Show offered the perfect opportunity for us to meet both current and potential customers and to demonstrate, just how easy it is to use our new website. We appreciate that for many smaller companies, it is more convenient to order what they need on-line, whenever they need it. Since the launch in March we have had 400 customers purchasing from the 600 stock items available. To provide a flavour of what can be obtained we actually sold a few selected stock items taking £2k live at the event."
Robert Horne also sponsored the Sign Industry Awards for The Small Signmaker of the Year. Paul went on to state "We were delighted to be the sponsor of this category, which was open to companies with a turnover of less than £1 million, and would like to congratulate once again the winner Go Girl Signs, a one- woman enterprise run by Cheryl Smith who gained this award for the Nissan Micra Special Edition Launch."
"Lastly Robert Horne was also proud to be nominated as a runner up for Sign Supplier of the Year for our environmental R3 scheme (recover, recycle and reuse) launched to alleviate the problem of waste disposal for sign makers and would like to thank all our loyal and valued customers for voting for us" concluded Paul.
