Take a look inside 'The Green Box'

Helping customers to make the right choice of environmental alternative to traditional sign & display materials has been made easier through the launch of The Green Box from Robert Horne Sign & Display.  Packaged together for the first time, The Green Box contains samples of all Sign & Display's environmental collection as well as detailed information about the environmental credentials of each product.

Steve Lister, Robert Horne Sign & Display's Business Development Director, explains:

"The market for greener alternatives to traditional sign & display material choices is growing and to make it easier for our customers to see the range of products on offer, we developed The Green Box.  The importance of greener alternatives cannot be underestimated and we are proud to be at the forefront of providing our customers with an unrivalled range of environmental products.  Coupled with our R3 (Recover - Recycle - Reuse) waste collection service which is unique to the sign & display market, and our environmental consultancy service, we really are leading the way in helping our customers to meet the environmental challenges our industry faces."

Contained in The Green Box is information on what each of the environmental products can be substituted for, the benefits of changing to the new media as well as explaining what products could be made from the recycled content.

For example: In the banner market, there have been continued requests for a more environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional PVC scrim banner which is currently disposed of via landfill.  Sign & Display are able to offer the Ole-flex banner as a ‘green alternative'.  Ole-flex is the first PVC free banner made from polypropylene and polyethylene and is 100% recyclable.  Following use, the polypropylene material can be recycled into an array of uses from automobile battery cases, signal lights, and brooms through to ice scrapers, oil funnels and bicycle racks.

For the general print/posters/displays market, products such as Revive 75 (silk and matt) and Revive 50:50 (silk and gloss) are excellent environmental alternatives to products which do not have FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) accreditation.  As well as being 100% recyclable these products already contain recycled content (75% and 50% respectively) and can be used to make new recycled paper and cardboard based products such as catalogues, bags, greeting cards, books and posters.

Steve Lister concludes:

"Our core business is supplying the right product for the right application and our aim is to help customers make the right choice.  More and more of these choices are environmental ones which is why The Green Box is such an invaluable information source."
