Robert Horne supports sustainability conference

3rd March 2010

Robert Horne Group is among a number of leading companies, such as Sainsbury's, British Gas and the Carbon Trust, who are all founding partners of base, a major new sustainability event being held at ExCeL in London on 16 and 17 March.  The two day show aims to provide practical solutions-based information for sustainable business.

This high profile event will have support from some of the biggest names in business and politics.  Among those speaking at the show are Charlie Mayfield, chairman, John Lewis Partnership, RT Hon Hilary Benn MP, Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Justin King, chief executive, Sainsbury's and Rt Hon Ed Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change. Tim Forster, proposition development director, Robert Horne Group, and John Ball, director of PaperlinX's UK delivery arm, The Delivery Co., will be speakers at two of the conference modules.  In the module ‘Making your business more resource efficient', Forster will be focusing on Life Cycle Thinking, including substrate choice, best practice in recycling and product stewardship.   John Ball will be speaking about using the latest technology to improve efficiency in logistics and about vehicle design when he addresses the module ‘How businesses have optimised the sustainability of their operations'.

In addition to various conference modules, keynote speakers and round table sessions, base will also feature an exhibition of 50 suppliers demonstrating a range of leading edge products and services designed to help businesses and organisations achieve their sustainability goals. Robert Horne's stand focuses on eco-efficiency in paper and plastics.  It will provide businesses with the opportunity to find out how they can improve the environmental impact of their operations not only through use of carefully sourced products such as FSC certified and recycled products, but also through more efficient use of materials and product disposal.  The stand will feature products and services such as yoyo - the closed loop office paper supply, delivery and recycling system - along with information about product innovation and recycling in the sign and display market.

Robert Horne's stand will also provide the perfect showcase for the UK's leading recycled range of paper and boards; revive.  The revive family has built a strong reputation for providing a comprehensive choice of sustainably sourced recycled papers and boards.

Robert Horne's support of base illustrates the Group's commitment to providing genuinely sustainable solutions to businesses across the UK.
