Robert Horne gives David Bailey Help for Heroes
8th December 2010
Iconic photographer David Bailey together with Dylan Jones, editor of GQ magazine recently joined forces to create Heroes, a book highlighting, through stunning imagery and copy, the everyday life of troops in Afghanistan. David Bailey has bypassed fashion and rock and swapped his studio for a tent, to draw attention to the valuable work British servicemen and women do. All proceeds from the book sales will go to Help for Heroes, the charity that aims to assist wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan.
The beautifully bound book of atmospheric pictures perfectly captures the camaraderie amongst the troops and has been produced on Robert Horne's revive 50:50 silk paper. Revive is Robert Horne's market leading brand of recycled papers, with revive 50:50 silk being a 50% recycled paper that has a high whiteness and quality finish that rivals that of top line wood free coated papers.
In order to show the photographs in all their poignant glory the specification of the paper was of paramount importance and revive was perfect for this collection of portraiture and reportage style photographs.
Philippa Charlton, Marketing Director, Robert Horne comments: ‘Robert Horne was approached by Thames and Hudson publishers with a request to donate paper for the book and to join the printer and pre-press house who donated their services for free. Robert Horne was happy to help thereby ensuring the maximum amount was raised for Help for Heroes via sales of David Bailey's wonderful book. We selected revive 50:50 for the project because not only would it produce a sharp and tactile book it also has exceptional environmental credentials which is very important to us as a company. It has been fantastic to have a part in bringing this worthy project to fruition. Heroes is a book full of beautiful images that as well as being a thing of great beauty is also helping a valuable cause."
Robert Horne supplies a vast array of materials, from paper and board to plastics. A unique combination of high quality, cost effective products is supported by added value services and in-depth industry knowledge.
