Robert Horne announces new LED partner

14th September 2008

The Robert Horne Group has just signed a partnership deal with world renowned Philips to distribute their Affinium LEDs and posterbox modules.  The deal takes effect from September and represents a major benefit for the Group and its customers.  The Philips range is from a trusted and well-established brand name, and the new products represent a significant increase in stock range and choice for customers.

Macer Bridges, LED Product Manager for Robert Horne said: "With the UK sign industry now appreciating the advantages in brightness and reduced energy and maintenance requirements of LED-based lighting, we are seeing an increase in demand for LED-based products to replace neon. We felt that the time was right to extend our supplier base - and the Philips products are very impressive"

Philips Affinium LED string system combines easy installation with guaranteed brand identity benefits for your customers' channel letters.

Benefits include:

  • Easy to install and fast installation, saving time and money.
  • Outdoor-proof with an IP66 rating, ensuring high reliability under all operating conditions.
  • Quality and uniformity of light with consistency of colours between different signs to maintain corporate requirements.
  • Ideal for large or small channel letters.
  • Tools to support application including Philips Affinium LED String layout creator and a cost saving calculation tool.
  • Saving in energy consumption; on average 4W per metre, compared with 20W per metre for neon.
  • Savings in maintenance cost; maintenance free for up to 50,000 hrs, whereas conventional systems often need replacing after 20,000 hrs.

Philips Affinium LED posterbox module is the energy efficient solution for perfect box signs. Setting new standards for high quality rectangular box signs or displays, these products use less power than conventional lamps.  Aluminium profiles wash light across your displays using a new Philips patent pending technology that makes optimal use of the light by recycling it in the box; the result being a uniform light without the stripes usually associated with fluorescent tubes.

With quality products like these to offer, it is easy to see why Bridges is so pleased with the deal, "We are really delighted to have signed this agreement with Philips who are leaders and innovators in this field."
