Pelican Print win a Canon IPF8100 from the Robert Horne Group
7th August 2008
Sign & Digital UK held in April at the NEC proved to be a popular and informative venue for anyone associated with the sign, screen and digital sectors. Robert Horne Sign & Display had a prestigious stand highlighting their full substrate and wide format machinery portfolio.
The Robert Horne Group has invested heavily in recent years developing the largest and most comprehensive range of wide format digital print hardware, software and consumables. By bringing together market leading brand names such as; Roland, Canon, Mimaki, VUTEK, Seal, Zund, Signlab and Onyx they have created a complete digital solutions offering that can be carefully matched to the specific needs of the customer.
With unparalleled substrate and machinery experience, Robert Horne Sign & Display know the business back to front, or to put it another way, from ‘Z to A' and this was the theme of the Sign UK stand with products on show ranging from Z-A. Robert Horne ran a competition for anyone attending the stand to find the missing letter (J); the prize was the latest technology in the wide format market, a Canon IPF8100 printer with borderless 60 inch prints, high productivity and superb colour stability.
Pelican Print of Aylesbury was the lucky draw winner and recently took delivery of their new Canon printer. Scott Brookes of Pelican Print explains how this addition to their machinery portfolio has added value to their existing business "We were delighted to find out we had won the printer; Pelican already offer a wide range of services to customers with our offset presses and HP Indigo press. The addition of the Canon will bolster our digital offering complementing our existing Roland Soljet Printer purchased from Robert Horne in April of this year. Pelican already provide POS and wide format, primarily for outdoor use, but the Canon will mean that we are able to provide further wide format print solutions to our customers with the latest benefits of the Canon such as exceptional quality, ultra glossy feel and speeds of up to 40m² / hr. The Canon is an aqueous printer so we can use a variety of different media such as recycled, glossy and synthetic papers or thicker boards for indoor POS use. We have recently produced a series of indoor panels on the new Canon for a leading restaurant chain. This customer is able to take full advantage of Pelican's on-line ordering service which enables customers to go from web to print in one easy process."
